Jayk is an actor, producer, director, screenwriter… plus musician, band booker, comedian, host, talent manager, rapper, poet, teacher, radio personality, event coordinator, among other things.  

In 2017 Jayk played the role of “John Corbin" on HBO’s Emmy award winning “Veep”, but he's best known for his role in the film "The Social Network”. He also appeared in the Coen Brothers’ “Hail Cesar!” as well as on CBS, TNT, MTV, ABC Family, Comedy Central, E!, The Disney Channel, and other networks in shows like CSI: NY, SouthLAnd, Crash and Bernstein and many others. He stars as Brandon Dedd in the feature "Dedd Brothers" now available on Amazon and Netflix. 2017 further saw him as “Handsome" in the upcoming feature “Western Wonderland” written and directed by Sundance alum Reza Safai, and in promos for Jack Reacher 2 directed by Head of Worldwide Creative Content at Paramount, Marcus Perry. Jayk has appeared in over 40 national commercials.  

Jayk arrived in LA in 2004 after graduating from Emerson College with a degree in Acting and Directing, and has trained at North Carolina School of the Arts, Boston University Theater Institute, and El Galliner in Girona, Spain. Jayk has performed stand-up comedy regularly at The Comedy Store, The Improv Hollywood, The Ha Ha Comedy Club etc.

A writer-director-producer, Jayk reached the final round of consideration in 2017 for both the Sundance Film Festival Screenwriters Lab and Sloan Commissioning Fellowship. Jayk has created and sold series of comedic content to Current TV, Fremantle Media, Sun Microsystems, and others. He also created several hip-hop and indie rock music videos, called "a kick to the gut" by SPIN Magazine, and breath-taking" by The Huffington Post, among other praise from national press outlets.

Jayk wrote and directed a gritty sci fi LA noir short film “Chronopath”, which is currently in 2018 festival consideration, starring Noree Victoria (True Crime: OJ Simpson) and Daz Crawford (Thor, 007, Agents of Shield) with work by VFX Supervisor and Sundance Alum George Loucas (Beatriz at Dinner, Burning Sands), VFX Artist Ian Blewitt (Titanic, Robocop, The Young Pope, Pirates of the Caribbean), and DP Ian Clampett (Baskets, Legion).

The year before that, Jayk wrote and produced the magical realism short film "Synching" which starred Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us, Silicon Valley, Love, AT&T's "Lily"), Lauren Flans (Wild N Out, Another Period), Laurie Kirkpatrick (Conan O'Brien), Adam Gifford (Longmire, Wristcutters: A Love Story), Dan Bell (Wayne's World I & II) etc, currently awaiting festival debut. Jayk also directed and produced a music video for the song "Precious Gold" by Beca, which dropped March 2017, and has been praised by such outlets as Stereogum, Flaunt Magazine, Lucky Magazine, and many others.

In 2017 Gallagher cast and associate produced Afghan War short "Hajji" in association with David J Lawson of Snowfort Pictures (XX, Jodorowsky's Dune), starring Dayo Okeniyi (Hunger Games, Shades of Blue) and Ross Marquand (The Walking Dead).

Jayk is a produced playwright, published poet, and a prolific screenwriter. He created several projects with Brimmer Street Theater Company's Blueprint Series, workshopping "The Apprehension of Dr. Kaczynski" and “Synching," later transforming these projects into screenplays. Gallagher writes reviews for multiple travel websites, press releases for the theater, film and music industries, and has 13 years experience tutoring SAT English and Grammar. 


Gallagher's grunge band Hobart W Fink was called " "Imposing" by SPIN Magazine, and "Mosh-worthy" by CMJ. The band has debuted two singles on KROQ' s Rodney on the ROQ, and played on over 100 stations nationwide. Songs have been placed in such cult hits as "Sharknado 2" and "Three Headed Shark Attack". Hobart W Fink's last two releases were recorded by Chris Kasych (Wavves, Phantogram, Vampire Weekend, P!nk, Santigold) and mastered by Alex DeYoung (Macy Gray, NOFX, Pennywise). The most recent EP features guest vocals from Rachel Fox, former star of Desperate Housewives and current wunderkind futures trader. Hobart W Fink performed six shows at South By Southwest 2016, and has headlined festivals like Echo Park Rising, Make Music Pasadena, Venice Music Crawl, Chinatown Nights, plus rocked every indie venue in LA and most states in the country. 

Before the band started in 2012, Jayk released four rap EPs over two years. He participated in national battle league Grind Time, garnering over 100,000 views on YouTube videos of his intense battles in front of thousands of live spectators. Jayk directed plays in Los Angeles with needtheater and Brimmer Street Theater Company, and in Boston with Circle Theater Group. 

Jayk is a show promoter, running a band booking company and record label called All Scene Eye. ASE artists have played in heavy rotation on KCRW, KPFK, KROQ, KEDG and more top stations. ASE is frequently contracted to book stages for major nationwide festivals, and consistently books talent at many LA venues. You can hear Jayk every other Sunday on AM1630 KCHUNG playing local bands on All Scene Eye Radio.
